Question: Use the calculator in the bottom right-hand corner to solve the following equation: y = 4 cos ( 0.67 π )
Answer: y ≈ −2.04 in radian mode; the historical screenshot’s 12.57 key is incorrect.
-
Set the calculator to radians and evaluate 0.67π ≈ 2.1049. Why: Multiplying by π specifies an angle in radians here.
-
Calculate y = 4 cos(2.1049) ≈ −2.036. Why: Cosine is negative in quadrant II; a positive answer cannot fit this expression.
