Thermodynamics
Find these readings by topic
This earlier reading list remains available with its complete tasks. The current book places these resources in the following topic chapters:
- Energy transfer and enthalpy →
Track energy across a stated system boundary and use heat, phase and reaction ledgers to explain measured and calculated enthalpy changes.
- Entropy, free energy, and chemical change →
Combine matter and energy dispersal with enthalpy and composition to explain chemical favorability, equilibrium and physically connected energy coupling.

Thermodynamics
In each of the sciences, there is at least one fundamental set of laws that govern its principles. In Biology, this is the law of natural selection. In Physics, there is the law of gravity and the law of electromagnetism. In Chemistry, these fundamental laws are called the laws of thermodynamics. We take a look at them in the first section.
